I can't resist a book list! I have only read The Makioka Sisters. I want to read more about Vietnam after reading The Sympathizer earlier this year, so I have taken note. Have you read The Things They Carried? I want to try that as well. I really need to read more William Boyd and my library has a copy of that title! To add to the list of books about expats: The Quiet American by Graham Greene is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. I think The Things They Carried is well worth reading, both for story, theme, and literary structure. I too need to read another Wm. Boyd someday. This dates me, but I think I read The Quiet American soon after the end of the Vietnam War.
